Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action or Non-impact aerobics) is an expressive workout which combines elements from the Dance Arts (Duncan dance, modern dance and jazz dance), Martial Arts (Tai Chi, Tai Kwon Do and Aikido) and Healing Arts (Yoga, Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais) into a powerful and exciting routine. The cardio-dance workout combines 52 simple moves and is a holistic practice enhancing mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
NIA is based on the intelligent design of the body and helps improve balance, stability, flexibility and overall confidence. Each workout brings mindfulness to your dance movement experience leaving you energized, mentally clear and happy as it is lots of fun! It is non-impact, practiced barefoot, and adaptable to individual needs and abilities. It encourages you to move in your body’s way and can be danced at three different levels of intensity.
