Narayanan LogoWisdom of the Wild Body

embodied awareness and deep self-care

with Srik Narayanan RSME (ISMETA)

Tuesdays, 6.30-8.30pm, 9th October to 11th December 2018 (10 weeks), 2nd floor studio

These classes invite us to let go into the wild unknown of our bodies.  Explorations using bodywork, breath, voice and imagery release us into movement with energy and awareness, with mutual support to trust our spontaneity, creativity and the aliveness of our play.  This process allows us to listen deeply to those places within ourselves that are seeking expression and receive them with kindness so that we find our ease, fluidity, restfulness and joy in being our whole selves and moving in our own ways.

Across the series you will develop a more integrated sense of your embodiment and deeper awareness of your bodily resources, discover skills, tools and practices to support your self-care, and find ways to empower yourself from within and be consciously resilient in moving through life.

The class material is based in experiential anatomy, physiology and development, Body-Mind Centering®, Authentic Movement, body-oriented therapy and somatic approaches to dance improvisation.  Classes are suitable for everybody.  No previous experience of dance, somatics or bodywork is required.  If you have any accessibility requirements please let me know.

The classes can be attended as a drop-in or as a 10-class series, saving 1/3rd on the drop-in price.

Wear layers of loose, comfortable clothing, including something warm. Please leave shoes outside the studio.
