Mandala Consultants is a Community Interest Company founded in 2018.  Our mission is towards working collaboratively to nurture resilience and wellbeing within individuals, communities and organisations and to support social change.

With three co founders, Mandala consultants bring our experience to a model of working collaboratively that merges community development approaches with psychological therapies to develop and deliver trauma informed services, training and organisation support in the areas of transcultural working, wellbeing and resilience, trauma, vicarious trauma and social change.

  • work with marginalised communities to support the development of culturally sensitive initiatives
  • work with organisations and community groups who are committed to developing initiatives that respond to stress, vicarious traumatisation and burnout
  • provide supervision, consultation and clinical consultation to professionals and community activists who are working with traumatic themes or material
  • provide organisational development support and facilitation
  • develop and deliver training programmes
  • deliver events and activities that promote wellbeing

 

Facilitators:

Elise Marshall is a person-centred counsellor, supervisor & trainer and a registered, accredited member of BACP.  She is also qualified to level 3 as an EMDR practitioner.  Soon after graduating as a counsellor in 2005 Elise went on to qualitfy as a massage therapist with the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine and a few years later completed her yoga teacher training with Prana Yoga College.

Elise has over 14 years working with survivors of trauma including with those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence, domestic abuse and torture.  For ten years she worked as a psychological therapist with survivors of torture for a national charity where she also designed and delivered training for those working with trauma in a wide range of roles and settings.  Elise is an honorary lecturer at Glasgow University School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing and is on the teaching faculty at Temenos Education.  Elise also has a small private practice as a counsellor, supervisor, yoga teacher and massage therapist as well as providing long term counselling for a small charity working with male adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  She is a co-founder and director of Mandala Consultants.

Elise has a particular interest in Vicarious Traumatisation and is currently priorisiting time for reflecting and writing about this area.  She has commenced training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with SOSI.

Norma Mackinnon Fathi is a UKCP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a qualified Community Worker.  Norma has 20 years’ experience working with vulnerable people who have experienced trauma including survivors of childhood sexual abuse, childhood neglect, violence, conflict and torture.  For the past 11 years her clinical work has been with survivors of torture and she previously managed psychological services at a national charity.  Norma works in private practice and is a co-founder at Mandala Consultants.
