I came to yoga in 2002-2003 after a lifetime of martial arts, gym-based training and hill walking and was surprised and intrigued by how challenging I found it. Since then yoga practice has provided me with many new challenges, physical, intellectual and emotional – and it has also sustained and supported me through life. It is a powerful tool for transformation – or an excellent route to better health and wellbeing.
I have worked with teachers from various yoga styles and traditions but am predominantly influenced by the teachings of Zhander Remete. The first teachers who inspired me were Fiona Morton and John Evans. Now I regularly attend workshops and courses to develop and deepen my practice, with teachers including Emma Balnaves and Karen Watson.
I studied with Yoga Scotland for two years to gain my Teaching Diploma. In my classes I aim to provide a supportive learning environment where each student can explore this non-competitive, practical science and experience their own yoga path.
