I offer a unique therapeutic approach that aims to support expression and exploration of capacities for insight, encourage positive change and improve emotional and psychological wellbeing.  My practice is informed by attachment theory, person centred and psychodynamic psychotherapy, dramatherapy and phototherapy/therapeutic photography.
I use a variety of methods to support individuals address and explore feelings, personal and emotional difficulties, relationship issues and trauma.  These include talking therapy, working with photographs, sounds, objects, masks, movement, voice, role-play, story making and poetry.  The work encourages use of metaphor and symbolism to enable exploration and understanding of difficult issues at a distance.
Arts psychotherapy interventions can mobilise imaginative resources leading to new skills, greater confidence and an ability to deal more effectively with situations arising in life; offer space for explorations of the role patterns we inhabit; encourage both verbal and non verbal communication.
I am a qualified Arts Therapist with ten years professional experience practising in private practice, the NHS and the Third Sector, in Glasgow, Dundee and London.  I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and insured by the Psychologists Protection Society (PPS).  I have specialised in Dramatherapy (MA, University of Roehampton, London) and I have undertaken addition training in Therapeutic Photography (School of Applied Social Studies, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Centre of Therapy, Glasgow) and Mindfulness.

We will initially meet for an introductory session to discuss how I may be able to support you and answer any questions.  This will also give you the chance to familiarise yourself with the space and the creative tools available.  If you decide to start therapy we can discuss and book sessions either on a weekly or fortnightly basis.  The methods used will be tailored to your needs and preferences.
